Playing against the B.E.S.T Academy for the third time this month, and the second time in four days, the Rockmart Yellow Jackets were able to pull out a hard fought 59-45 win in the opening round of the Region 4-AAA tournament at Douglass High School.

Rockmart, the No. 6 seed in Region 4-AAA, won the most important game the two had squared off in this season by the biggest margin in the series all year.

In their first meeting on Feb. 1, Rockmart downed the B.E.S.T Academy (2-22) by three points, 60-57, before losing to the Eagles 51-48 last Saturday.

Rockmart (9-16) now advances to face Central-Carroll (14-10), the No. 3 seed out of Region 4-AAA, on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. If Rockmart beats Central-Carroll they will advance to the region semifinals and automatically qualify for the Class AAA state tournament.
