Cedartown (1-15) was led offensively by TJ Ector with eight points. Mason Cox scored six and Walker Barrow added five.
The Cedartown High School basketball teams were unable to get into the win column on Saturday as both the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs dropped their non-region games.
The Bulldogs fell victim to two early big runs by South Paulding on Saturday and lost, 81-23.
South Paulding opened the game on a 15-1 run as they jumped out to a 24-9 lead after one quarter of play. South Paulding then started the second period on an 18-0 blitz to build a 42-9 advantage midway through the second quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs got to within two points of South Paulding at 55-53 when Lexy Barnett converted a basket with 1:20 left in the game.
Cedartown then had multiple opportunities to tie the game, including two shots with under 20 seconds left, but they could never make the tying bucket.
South Paulding then added a free throw with 4.6 seconds left to seal the non-region win, 56-53.
Barnett scored 16 points for the Lady Bulldogs while Shay Jones added 11. Arkeria Boozer and Tia Covington each tallied nine points and Victoria Frazier scored five.
The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs will host South Paulding in a rematch next Saturday.
