The Rome baseball team answered quickly and efficiently Wednesday with a 10-3 win against Model in Shannon. It is the Wolves’ fifth win in the past six games.

Chandler Bridges started and went five innings with four hits allowed, but also recorded two hits at the plate. Connor Ballard went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, while Alden Astin and Harrison Pyle each pitched a scoreless inning to finish the game.

Model’s Drew Tanner went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and junior Lane Boyd record one hit and an RBI.

The Wolves (7-4) scored four runs in the third, three in the second and then two more in the fourth to go up 9-0 early. While Model (0-10) posted three runs in the fourth, Rome was not going to allow a comeback with the pitching that was coming.

Rome plays again on Friday when it hosts Woodstock at 5:55 p.m. at Legion Field. Meanwhile, Model plays at home Friday against Pepperell at 5:30 p.m.
