The Phoenix got a solid outing from starting pitcher Drew Wilson but couldn’t string together enough offense in a non-region road loss on Wednesday.

Wilson pitched six innings and gave up three runs (all unearned) on four hits while striking out seven as he earned the tough-luck loss for Sonoraville (2-3).

The Phoenix took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and third innings, but Model rallied for two in the bottom of the third and scored the eventual game-winning run in the fourth.

Sonoraville managed only one hit in the game, that coming from Hayden Bunch who finished with a hit and a run. Patrick Thurman scored a run and walked twice, and Wilson had an RBI.

The Phoenix are again on the road on Friday, visiting Coosa.
