BASEBALL: Cedartown, Rockmart game moved to Thursday at 5 p.m.

  • ()

The Cedartown Bulldogs and Rockmart Yellow Jackets baseball teams are always eager to play each other. So needless to say, neither program objected to having to move Friday’s non-region game up 24 hours to Thursday.

With bad weather expected on Friday, the two Polk County rivals agreed to move the game to Thursday at 5 p.m. The varsity will play first, followed by a junior varsity game. Both games will be in Cedartown.

Cedartown enters the game 1-0, having won their season opener over Chattooga 6-1 on Tuesday. Rockmart, meanwhile, comes into the game at 0-2.

The Yellow Jackets lost to Bremen 11-0 on Tuesday in their first regular season game of the season, and then suffered a 15-5 loss to Coosa on Wednesday.
