BASEBALL: Cedartown over powers Pickens, 8-4

Playing in the opening contest of a three-game series, the Cedartown Bulldogs picked up an 8-4 Region 7-AAAA, sub-region 'A' win on the road over Pickens.
The win was the second straight sub-region win for the Bulldogs (9-4, 2-2), who play Pickens at home on Thursday and then again on the road Friday.
Blake Oxenreider went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored to lead the Bulldogs offensive attack. Kory Lindsey finished 2-for-4 with a double and Harrison Barnett went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Daylon Gates started on the mound for the Bulldogs and pitched four innings, striking out 10 batters while allowing six hits and four runs (three earned). Kim Carr pitched the final three innings, striking three batters while giving up no runs.
