Unity Christian School student-athlete Collin Mathis made his post-high school plans solid Thursday as he officially signed to run track at Berry College.

The senior, who also plays football, was joined by his family, coaches and friends for the ceremony.

Mathis started running track last year and finished as the regional champion in the boys’ 100- and 200-meter dash. He went on to place third in the 100 and 4th in the 200at the GICAA state championships.

“I have only known Collin Mathis for short period of time, but what I know about him is that he is a hard worker and a disciplined young man,” Unity track and field coach Bradley Moon said in a statement.

“There is no question that Collin Mathis is a leader. He leads by his actions and challenges others around him.”
