A Rome woman remained in jail Monday without bond after being accused of hitting a man with a tire iron.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Elizabeth Ann Newell, 46, of 10 A Wood Creek Way, was arrested Sunday at 11:28 p.m. after she hit a man’s hand with a tire iron, making him bleed. Newell did this in front of children.
Newell is charged with three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and felony aggravated assault. She is also charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
