Warrants charge Adairsville man with car theft

An Adairsville man accused of taking two cars and breaking the window of a third one was in jail without bond Wednesday night.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Gary Lee Coffman Jr., 47, of 938 Millers Ferry Road in Adairsville, was arrested on warrants charging him with felony theft by taking a motor vehicle, felony theft of a motor vehicle by conversion and felony entering an auto.

Investigators said Coffman took a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu worth $5,400 from a location on Mathis Road in May 2016.

He also broke out the window of a 2006 Nissan Murano on John Davenport Drive in July 2015, with intent to commit a felony.

Coffman also is charged with keeping a 2014 Ford Fiesta that had been loaned to his son, from Aug. 15, 2015, until it was recovered in Bartow County on May 14, 2016.
