Police were looking for a man Sunday who reportedly loaded up a shopping cart at the West Rome Walmart with almost $800 of merchandise and walked out of the store without paying.

According to Rome police reports:

Officers responded to a shoplifting call from Walmart, 2510 Redmond Circle, at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

An employee told them a man loaded into a shopping cart about 30 fishing lures valued at $240; a fabric cooler valued at $50; a coffeemaker valued at $45; two smartphones valued at $400; sewing scissors valued at $20; and a sheet set valued at $35.

The man pushed the full cart past the registers without paying. He was last seen loading the items into a red Chevrolet pickup truck and driving away.
