Two charged with possession of synthetic marijuana

A Rome man and woman face felony drug charges after a traffic stop in West Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Letonio Christopher Allen, 27, of 215 Hasty Road, and Pamela Regina Thompson, 45, of 139 E. 14th St., were arrested Tuesday night near the intersection of Shorter Avenue and Marigold.

Allen was stopped just after 9 p.m. for driving without headlights, and officers found a quantity of synthetic marijuana inside the center console of the vehicle. Both Allen and Thompson were charged with felony possession of synthetic marijuana.

Allen also was charged with the misdemeanors driving without headlights, giving a deputy a false name and date of birth and driving on a suspended license. He was released from jail Wednesday on bond.

Thompson was also charged with misdemeanor obstruction for failing to give authorities true information regarding Allen. She was being held without bond Wednesday night on a felony probation violation.
