Two charged with possession of synthetic marijuana after police find them parked at stop sign

A Rome couple has been charged with felony possession of synthetic marijuana after police noticed their vehicle parked at a stop sign at the intersection of Old Dalton Road and Martha Berry Highway, reports stat-ed.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Steven Lamar Barnes, 36, and Christie Lee Barnes, 44, both of 109 Harrison Road were arrested around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Police found two synthetic marijuana cigarettes, a number of plastic bags with the same substance and a Tramadol pill.

Christie Lee Barnes is charged with felony possession of the synthetic marijuana and felony possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Steven Lamar Barnes is charged with the same two felonies along with misdemeanors for driving under the influence and improper parking

Steven Barnes was being held in the Floyd County Jail pending a $5,700 bond while Christie Barnes was being held on a $3,500 bond.
