A Polk County man who was stopped by Rome Police at Turner McCall and Riverbend Drive early Friday morning faces a series of felony drug charges.
According to Floyd County jail reports:
Jeremy Allen Chavez, 31, of 154 Juliette St., Cedartown, was stopped around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Police found a small quantity of suspected meth, cyclobenzaprine and valium pills. The pills were found in the same container with a set of digital scales. Officers also recovered more than $600 in cash during the search of the vehicle which also turned up a nine millimeter handgun that was found under a passenger seat.
Chavez was charged with felony possession of meth, three counts of felony possession of dangerous drugs, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and misdemeanors for driving without a license and possession of drug related objects.
He was being held in the Floyd County Jail without bond Friday.
