More than $2,000 worth of tools were stolen from a tractor trailer that was abandoned behind a shopping center in West Rome last week.

According to Rome Police reports:

Officers responded to a call at 2204 Shorter Ave. Monday night where an employee of a business said a trailer bed had been abandoned around Nov. 27.

Police were able to contact representatives of Road Runner Logistics, who said they had been trying to contact two employees connected to the rig for the past week. An estimated $2,111 worth of tools were missing from a tool box that was attached to the trailer.

The missing cab of the truck was found a short distance away in the West Rome Walmart parking lot, however the two employees have still not been found.
