Three charged with drug conspiracy

  • ()

Three women have been jailed in Rome on felony charges of conspiring to distribute controlled substances.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Megan Rachelle Lambert, 30, of 278 Mac Johnson Road, Cartersville, Natasha Marie Lambert, 32, of 278 Mac Johnson Road, Cartersville, and Ashley Anna Downs, 32, of 5535 J.F. Harris Parkway, Adairsville, were all arrested Thursday night and were being held in the Floyd County Jail Friday without bond.

Warrants for all three allege that they conspired with a physician to unlawfully distribute oxycodone.  The physician prescribed the drugs for the women "outside the usual  course of professional practice," and not for "legitimate medical purposes," according to the warrants. The women then had the prescriptions filled at a Rome pharmacy for the purpose of illegally dispensing the pain killers.

The warrant against Downs alleges the act occurred on Jan. 25, 2017.  The warrant for Natasha Lambert claims the act occurred June 14, 2017, while the warrant for Megan Lambert alleges the prescription was written and filled on July 6 of 2017.
