A 16-year-old Rome boy was being held in the youth detention center Wednesday night after his arrest on a warrant charging him with the January armed robbery of a convenience store.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The boy brandished a weapon that looked like a 12-gauge shotgun at A1 Food & Beverage, 203 Burnett Ferry Road, and demanded money.
The incident took place on Jan. 16. Investigators were able to identify him because he had been in the store multiple times with his mother to cash checks.
