A Silver Creek man was being held in jail without bond Wednesday after police said he dragged a woman down the road in a moving car.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Harold Chase Anderson, 20, of 797 Preacher Smith Road, is charged with felony aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with the intent to distribute and trafficking in meth. The victim and witnesses said he threw her out of the car he was driving near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Boyd Valley Road.
Although she was outside the car, Anderson put her in a chokehold through the driver’s side window and dragged her down the road while driving the car.
When Anderson let her go, she hit the road face first.
He was later arrested on Tuesday after police noticed that he had blackout covers on his tail lights. When he was pulled over in front of 1170 Turner Chapel Road, he was found with 81 grams of meth.
Police also charged Anderson with misdemeanor battery, cruelty to children, possession and use of drug-related objects and tail light requirements.
