A Rome woman was taken into custody Saturday after allegedly trying to choke her fiance.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Jessica Nicole Shuman, 25, of 117 E. Main St., got into an argument with her 32-year-old fiance just before 5 p.m. Saturday.

Shuman is alleged to have put her hands around the man’s neck in a bid to choke him before the victim was able to break free.

Shuman was booked charged with felony aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act. She was being held at the Floyd County Jail late Saturday.
