A Rome remained in jail Monday night without bond after his arrest late Sunday night on felony assault and drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Billy Joe Maynor, 49, of 118 E. Linden Drive, was arrested around 8 p.m. Sunday at his home by Floyd County Police.
Officers had a warrant charging him with felony aggravated assault for allegedly choking a woman and dragging her about 15 feet before body slamming her to a concrete driveway on Cole Road on June 15.
When police got to his home Sunday night, they found Maynor in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe.
Maynor was charged with felony aggravated assault, felony possession of meth, a felony probation violation and misdemeanors for criminal trespassing and possession of drug related objects.
