Rome man held criminally responsible for wreck

A Rome man has been arrested and was being held in the Floyd County Jail on a $7,900 bond Friday night in the wake of an investigation into a wreck that occurred Dec. 8.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Tyler James Eaves, 19, of 1522 Old Cave Spring Road, was arrested at his residence by Rome Police Thursday. He allegedly was behind the wheel of a vehicle on the morning of Dec. 8, under the influence of drugs, when he struck a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Davenport on North Broad Street near Tolbert Street.

Davenport suffered multiple injuries in the wreck. Eaves was charged with felony serious injury by automobile, and misdemeanors for DUI, driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving too fast for conditions and reckless driving.
