Rome man facing multiple counts of entering auto

Lucas Wade Sharpe

Police say a Rome man was seen Friday morning entering vehicles in East Rome and was taken into custody after being found in the crawl space under a home on East 20th Street.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Lucas Wade Sharpe, 28, of 1300 Hull Ave., was arrested Friday in the 200 block of East 20th after allegedly entering three vehicles on Cedar Avenue.

When police found him under the crawl space of a home he had a box cutter and screwdriver in his possession and told police to shoot him because he wasn’t going to jail.

Officers talked Sharpe out from underneath the building and took him to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of lacerations before carrying him to jail.

Sharpe was charged with three felony counts of entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft and a felony probation violation.

He was being held in the Floyd County jail without bond Saturday night.
