A Rome man has been jailed on multiple felony charges after he choked a woman during an altercation Thursday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Randy Dewayne Cantrell Jr., 23, of 2005 Dean Ave., straddled a woman and wrapped his hand around her neck restricting the flow of her airway and causing bruises to her neck. He also punched the woman in the face with his fist and then threatened to kill the woman while brandishing a pocket knife. The entire incident took place in front of a small child.
Cantrell was charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of battery, terroristic threats, criminal trespassing and cruelty to children.
Cantrell was being held in the Floyd County Jail Saturday night without bond.
