A Rome man has been arrested after reportedly selling a firearm that he did not have the authority to sell.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jonathan Mark Stephens, 24, of 333 Bert Road, was charged with felony counts of theft by receiving and theft by deception after selling a Winchester rifle to another man for $120 back in December. Floyd County Police said Stephens did not have permission to sell the weapon.
He was also charged with a felonies for a probation violation and failure to appear in court along with a misdemeanor for theft by shoplifting.
Stephens was being held in the Floyd County Jail Friday without bond.
