A Rome man was in jail without bond Saturday night, accused of grabbing a male by the throat and slamming him against a wall, as well as hitting a woman in the face.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Andrew Wayne Gentry, 40, of 4 Plymouth Road, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. Saturday. Gentry attacked the victims at his home about 20 minutes prior to his arrest.
The woman was left with a scratch on the nose and a large bump on her forehead. The report does not indicate any injuries to the male.
Gentry is charged with felony aggravated assault and cruelty to children in the first degree, both under the Family Violence Act. He is additionally charged with misdemeanor battery under the Family Violence Act.
Gentry’s bond was bound over to Floyd County Superior Court.
