A Rome man was behind bars at the Floyd County Jail on Thursday after he allegedly helped a wanted woman hide in an air conditioning vent in his home.

According to jail records:

Police arrested Joshua Nicholas Clonts, 31, of 406 Elliott Drive, on an outstanding warrant Thursday and charged him with felony hindering the apprehension of a felon.

On Dec. 20, 2013, Clonts helped to hide Melissa Elaine Dial, 27, of 928 Wayside Road, in an HVAC vent at his former home at 9 Brandon Lane. Dial had two active warrants for felony probation violation charges and was found during a search of the home.

She and Clonts were both in jail without bail Thursday night.
