A Rome man was in jail without bail Thursday, after his arrest on warrants alleging he contacted a woman after having been ordered to stay away.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Garry Lawson Jr., 24, of 38 Northside Drive, was arrested after a woman called authorities to report that he followed her on Dec. 26 from Shorter Industrial Boulevard to Mount Berry Mall.
She said Lawson rode past her vehicle in the mall parking lot at least 10 times, shouting at her. A small child was in the car with her at the time.
The incident came after Superior Court Judge Walter Matthews signed a temporary protective order on Dec. 11, forbidding Lawson from having contact with her.
Lawson is charged with two counts of aggravated stalking, a felony. He was being held in the Floyd County Jail pending a first appearance hearing.
