A Rome man was in jail without bond Thursday after being accused of preventing a woman from making a 911 call.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Michael Shane Cordle, 36, of 704 Warren Road, was arrested around 5 p.m. Thursday after he took a cellphone from the woman as she was trying to call 911. The woman believed Cordle was going to beat her up.
Cordle is charged with felony aggravated stalking. He is also facing misdemeanor charges of simple assault and obstructing an emergency telephone call.
