A Rome woman who was given financial responsibility for an elderly person’s finances used that person’s identity to open three credit cards and run up charges for herself, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Brittany Sue Gibson, 26, of 1870 East Hermitage Road, is charged with felony identity fraud and exploitation of an elder.
Gibson is accused of opening the credit card accounts and “causing an incredibly high burden of debt which was hidden from the victim” Floyd County police investigators wrote in the report.
She was released on $5,700 bond Friday.
