Report: Woman arrested at Circle K had narcotic painkiller

A Floyd County woman accused of having an unprescribed painkiller was released from jail Saturday on bond.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jerri Lee Wiser, 29, of 1755 Wilkerson Road, Apt. B, was arrested at the Circle K, 1425 Turner McCall Blvd., Saturday and charged with felony possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.

Wiser reportedly had suboxone, a highly addictive narcotic painkiller that is also used to treat addiction to painkillers. It can cause respiratory distress and death when taken in high doses or when combined with other substances, especially alcohol, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
