A Rome man is being detained in the Floyd County Jail without bond for a parole violation following a wreck and the discovery of drugs.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Andrew Steven Silvey, 35, of 18 London Lane, was involved in a wreck Friday night around 5:30 near the intersection of Wilshire Road and Kingston Highway. He ran from the scene but was arrested later at a location on Brewer Road. County police found a couple of hydrocodone pills in his clothing and a bag of marijuana that was left behind in the vehicle.
Silvey was charged with a felony possession of Schedule II controlled substances and misdemeanors for having drugs not in an original container, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and failing to maintain his lane of traffic.
