A Rome man was in jail without bond Sunday night, facing aggravated assault and child cruelty charges.
According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department reports:
Jaime Quino-Lares, 22, of 225 S. Broad St., Apt. 6, was arrested early Sunday at his home. He is accused of swinging a hammer at a 19-year-old woman “with the intent to murder” her, pushing a 2-year-old child to the ground and hitting the woman in the face, causing visible injuries.
Quino-Lares is charged with felony aggravated assault. He’s also facing misdemeanor charges of simple battery and battery under the Family Violence Act, second-degree cruelty to children and third-degree cruelty to children.
