A Rome man was in jail Tuesday night after police said he deliberately disconnected the furnace exhaust pipe under a house and put the residents’ lives in danger.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Robert Sibley Ogletree Jr., 37, of 18 Forest Meadow Drive, is charged with felony first-degree criminal damage to property and terroristic threats and acts.
He went under the house Sunday and disconnected the furnace exhaust pipe, which caused exhaust to build up in the basement and living areas. The victim and guest got headaches and “a condition” that endangered their lives.
Ogletree’s actions came after he repeatedly tried to contact the victim via cellphone.
He was being held without bond late Tuesday.
