A Rome man was arrested Friday on charges of felony false imprisonment after he allegedly beat a woman and wouldn’t let her leave the room, reports stated.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Jimmy Lee Brown Jr., 50, of 225 Stonewall St., is also charged with misdemeanor family violence battery, interfering with a 911 call, public drunkenness and obstruction of law enforcement.
The report said he hit his victim in the head repeatedly and pulled her hair out. Then he pulled her away from the phone as she tried to dial 911.
When he finished hitting her, Brown wouldn’t let her leave the living room. Then he told the police she wasn’t in the house when she really was.
Brown was being held without bond on Friday night.
