A Rome man was released from jail Thursday on $11,200 bond after being accused of choking a woman in his home.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joshua Mitchell Banks, 36, of 2604 Shorter Ave., choked and hit a woman and prevented her from leaving the house. He also “caused physical pain” to a 14-year-old. The incident happened in front of a 4-year-old.
Banks was arrested Wednesday and charged with the felonies aggravated assault, first-degree cruelty to children and false imprisonment. He also is facing the misdemeanors third-degree cruelty to children and two counts of battery under the Family Violence Act (first offense).
