Metro task force charges 5 following meth raid in Garden Lakes

Five people were jailed on felony drug charges Tuesday after the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force executed a search warrant at a house in Garden Lakes.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Task force members searched the house at 10 Woodvalley Terrace just before 9:30 a.m. and found an unspecified quantity of methamphetamines.

Arrested were Bartney Locke Furr, 36, and David Allen Jenkins, 25, of 10 Woodvalley Terrace; Summer Day Hamilton, 27, listed as homeless; Heaven Lee Hood, 19, of 734 Burnett Ferry Road; and Gerald Gunner Griffin, 48, 3860 Old Rockmart Road, Silver Creek.

All five are facing a felony charge of meth possession and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug-related objects. Hood also is charged with two felony counts of obstruction for trying to kick law enforcement officers.
