Man charged with stealing pants, phones from YMCA locker

A Garden Lakes man accused of stealing pants and other items from the YMCA locker room was in jail without bond Wednesday on felony charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Larry Willis James Jr., 35, of 53 Heritage Way Drive, was arrested on warrants charging him with two counts of felony credit card fraud and misdemeanor theft by taking.

James is charged with stealing a $48 pair of pants from the locker room of the Rome-Floyd County YMCA on Second Avenue in December 2017. He also took a wallet, credit cards, check and a passport, along with a $200 iPhone and an $800 Moto Z Force Droid phone.

He used a stolen credit card to buy a JBL R55 Bluetooth headphone, a PS4 game and a 2-year replacement plan for $237.50 and a $40 bottle of Gentleman Jack whiskey.
