A Rome man was jailed after allegedly taking money from a 74-year old victim in August.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Eric Dylan Backstrom, 28, of 544 Burnett Ferry Road, took a check, and forged a signature on the bank account of the victim back on August 10 to obtain $350 from the victim’s account.
Backstrom was arrested by Rome police on Shorter Avenue early Wednesday morning charged with felony exploitation of an elderly person and misdemeanors for theft by receiving stolen property, forgery and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
Backstrom was being held in the Floyd County Jail Wednesday pending a $5,700 bond.
