A Rome man has been jailed after an investigation into an altercation at a home in the Coosa community earlier this month.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jesse Willard Brooks, 34, of 172 S. Avery Road, was arrested Thursday night on a warrant charging him with felony aggravated assault for an attack against a woman on Jan. 5, just after 5 p.m. Brooks allegedly choked the woman to the point of leaving marks on her neck that evening. He also struck her in the face, chipping a tooth and causing an eye injury.
Brooks struck a second victim causing a shoulder injury,
Brooks was charged with felony false imprisonment for intimidating a woman, preventing her talking with 911 dispatchers or answering the door when police arrived.
Charges against Brooks also include a felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanors for battery, simple battery and hindering a 911 call.
Brooks is being held in the Floyd County Jail without bond.
