A West Rome resident was jailed after a scuffle with deputies on Watson Street and is being held for U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement authorities.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Victor Hugo Alonso, 25, of 110 Watson St., got into a struggle with deputies at his home Tuesday night. Deputies said Alonso tried to run from them, then kicked and fought with officers after he was apprehended. At some point during the altercation officers found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue. Alonso is charged with three counts of felony obstruction, one felony count of possession of methamphetamine and the misdemeanors possession of drug related-objects, simple battery against police, cruelty to children for allowing a child to witness a felony and failure to appear. He was being held without bond Wednesday night.
