A Rome man remained in jail Tuesday night after being accused of pinning a man against a wall and threatening him with a hammer at a Beard Lake Road residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Alexander Barrett Keasler, 33, of 1003 E. Second Ave., was arrested by Floyd County police at the home around 12:36 a.m. Christmas Day. He had come into the home without permission. He held the hammer above the man’s head as if he were ready to strike him with it.
He is charged with felony aggravated assault and burglary in the first degree. He is additionally charged with simple assault and a parole violation.
He was in jail without bond on the parole violation charge.
