A Rome man remained in jail Tuesday after being accused of violently resisting arrest, leading to a Rome police officer suffering a dislocated shoulder.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Jose Antonio Reyes-Cornejo, 19, of 107 Pine Villas Drive, was arrested Monday on charges related to the Saturday incident.
He is charged with felony aggravated battery against a law enforcement officer when engaged on official duty and two counts of obstruction of an officer. He is also charged with misdemeanor willful obstruction of law enforcement officers; giving false name, address, or birthdate to law enforcement officers; and driving without a license.
Reyes-Cornejo was in jail without bond Tuesday on a hold for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
