An East Rome man has been jailed after a warrant was issued charging him with exploitation of an elder.
According to Floyd County Jail reports:
Brian Redwine, 42, of 5A Lee St., is accused of entering another property on Lee Street on June 30 where he stole several fishing poles from an outbuilding. He returned the next night and took more fishing gear and hand tools. He went back a third night and took a bicycle but was caught on a trail camera that time.
The warrant for Redwine’s arrest says the elderly victims suffered substantial mental fear and anguish and have been afraid to leave their house at night.
Redwine was charged with felony exploitation of an elder person and burglary for those incidents and was charged felony with possession of methamphetamine when officers who arrested him Wednesday found a bag of the substance on Redwine when he was picked up at a location near the intersection of the Alabama Highway and Woods Road.
Redwine was in jail Thursday night on a $17,770 bond.
