A Rome man who was stabbed multiple times was released from the hospital late Friday, Floyd Medical Center officials said.

FMC spokesman Dan Bevels said Loyd Cleve Sisson, 58, was treated at the hospital’s emergency room before being released.

According to Rome police Pfc. Jaime Sutton and Pfc. Glenn Atkins, Sisson was stabbed by his live-in girlfriend, Irene Borne, 47, of 903 N. Fifth Ave. around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Sutton said Sisson was stabbed at least eight times — in the head, arm, hand and eye. Sisson told police that he had been stabbed by Borne with a kitchen knife.

Borne denied the allegations.

She was arrested and taken to Floyd County Jail early Friday morning with a felony aggravated assault charge.

Borne remained behind bars late Friday without bond.
