Inmate facing slew of charges from jail incident

An inmate remained in jail without bond Friday evening after being accused of threatening jail officers and refusing to obey their orders and had to be shot with a “less-lethal” PepperBall gun to get him to comply.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Robert Jasper Wright, 26, of 301 Watters St., had threatened the officers during feeding time at the jail Oct. 27.

He is charged with five felony counts of terroristic threats and acts; 11 counts of obstruction of an officer; riot in a penal institution; two counts of assailing, opposing, or resisting officer of the law in a penal institution; and aggravated assault.

He was originally arrested Sept. 20 on a felony probation violation charge.
