A Floyd County man accused of threatening a family member was in jail Tuesday morning pending a $7,900 bond.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Matthew Ryan Kempf, 38, of 42 Round Rock Circle, was arrested late Monday and charged with felony terroristic threats and the misdemeanors harassing communications and simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

Kempf is accused of sending threats to the victim by text and, during a fight that left red marks on her arm, shouting “I should have smashed your … skull in with the TV when I had the chance.”
