A former Rome probation officer was in jail without bail Tuesday night, accused of sexually assaulting two probationers under the supervision of his office.
Georgia law makes it a crime for law officers to have sexual contact with a person in their custody.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Anyoel Cordovi, 29, of a Dalton address, was arrested on felony warrants Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual assault and violation of his oath of office.
The warrants were issued Friday in reference to incidents that occurred in the first part of 2015, when he was an employee of the Georgia State Probation Office in Rome.
In one case, Cordovi sent a cellphone picture of his penis to one probationer and received a photo of the person’s buttocks. In the other case, he had sexual intercourse with a probationer.
