The strong odor of marijuana from a vehicle led county police to make a traffic stop and take two men into custody on felony charges.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

County police recovered a large bag of marijuana with several smaller bags of marijuana, as if packaged for distribution. Police also recovered a loaded firearm inside the vehicle.

Cornette was charged with purchase, possession or manufacture with the intent to distribute a counterfeit substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, both felonies.

McNeir-Smith was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession, purchase or manufacture of marijuana and a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
