Convicted felon had drugs, guns

A Rome man was in jail without bond Thursday night after being accused of having marijuana and two guns on him as a convicted felon.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Tanorris Jowen Turner, 34, of 505 Nixon Ave., was arrested just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 523 W. 11th St. He is charged with two felony counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies; two counts of purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is also charged with misdemeanor probation violation.
