Child injured after vehicle strikes stroller on Shorter

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Lee Bowden (left) takes witness statements Sunday on Shorter Avenue at Holmes Street where a Toyota Camry hit a stroller pushed by a woman crossing the street with three small children at around 4:20 p.m. The infant in the stroller was also in a car seat and sustained only scrapes. Bowden said the stroller hit a preschool-age boy and knocked him over. The child was taken to Floyd Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Camry had a green light and the driver did not see the family until it was too late, Bowden said. No citations were issued and traffic cleared by 4:50 p.m. (Diane Wagner /
