Cave Spring man charged with taking recreational vehicles

A Cave Spring man, arrested a week ago in Bartow County, had three more felony theft counts added to the list of charges against him across multiple jurisdictions.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Joel Nelson Yother Jr., 35, of 2385 Lyons Bridge Road, Cave Spring, stole a 1996 PolarKraft fishing boat, valued at $9,500, from a home on Big Texas Valley Road on Oct. 14.

Yother also took a 26-foot Puma camper, valued at $20,000, from a home on Gill Road on Nov. 22. He also took a 2008 White Freedom Spirit camper from a home on Mary Mac Road on Nov. 28. That camper was valued at $1,500.

In addition to the three new counts of felony theft by taking added Friday, Yother is charged three misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing.

Yother was taken into custody at the Cass-White exit off Interstate 75 Dec. 3 after Floyd County police got information that he was a suspect in multiple camper thefts.

In addition to the local charges, Yother is being held on undisclosed charges in Gordon County and Cherokee County, Alabama.
